ICO Review: IceBreakerAR (ICE)
The developers of IceBreakerAR appreciate that forming relationships of any kind is a complex and tedious process. Most people fail at professional relationships because they are timid and shy at meeting new people, they lack assertiveness or are too assertive when passing their point across. Either way could put off potential partners. Dating, on the other hand, is just as stressful and nerve wrecking for singles and ready-to-mingle types. They screw up when meeting for the first time and blow their chances of forming meaningful connections. Usually meeting strangers for the first time is a mixed bag of feelings, there is a lot of things to keep in check with your personality at the same time try noticing the subtle traits of your date. Meeting on the internet through services such as Match.com, Plenty of Fish and others has been criticized because it offers a passive experience and a chance for users to scam and create undesirable experiences on the platform. Therefore IceBreakerAR has been proposed to help solve most of these challenges in three relationship types – dating, business networking and group relationships. The differentiating factor between all the other competitors mentioned above is that the project is based on the blockchain.
The IceBreakerAR project introduces a few nice features that work within an augmented reality setting to help two or more individuals trying to connect with each other associate more confidently. This way the users can create virtual reality profiles on the platform that enable them to grow, build and nurture life-like relationships without the need to meet personally with the relations from the virtual reality. Once they are comfortable with one another, they could then meet if the need arises.
The IceBreakerAR platform is made up of four components:
The blockchain – the platform is built atop the Ethereum blockchain to ensure the security of user data and safety of users through identity verification procedures on the blockchain. Augmented reality – the platform will be serving matching results to searchers in AR profiles of the users and allowing the users to customize their profiles to match their characters and habits in real-life. This way the rest of the users are not misled by misrepresentation and the users are not also misrepresented.
Retail partners – every platform with users gets approached with businesses seeking to advertise or market to the users. With IceBreakerAR any partners that will be interested in working with the platform will be required to offer discounts and other business incentives to gain access to the platform users. These incentives will be for the users.
Mobile Application – users will be able to download and engage with the IceBreakerAR platform through the mobile application available in both iOS and Android operating systems.

IceBreakerAR goes against some very big and already established companies such as Match.com and Tinder and several others in the dating industry. Not just that, IceBreakerAR does not define a niche for specialization and rather targets to disrupt three relationship aspects which could prove confusing to its users and a little too broad for the team to tackle. Overall it is a great concept executed in a novel way through AR and it is expected to carry out a successful ICO, however, the Hardcap may be too high to reach for its level of social media engagement currently.
